A Tested Recipe

Stir-Fried Tofu with Green Onions.

Pan-fried tofu tossed with green onions and peppers. Get the tofu crispy on the outside, keep it soft inside, then stir everything together. Done in 20 minutes.

  • 1 piece white tofu (about 200g)
  • 1 stalk green onion
  • 1 green pepper
  • 9 ml cooking oil
  • 3 g salt
  • 1.5 g chicken bouillon
  • 10 ml water

Prepare Ingredients

  • Wash the tofu and cut it into slices about 5mm thick. Place on a plate.
  • Wash the green onions, remove the roots, and chop into scallions. Set aside.
  • Wash the peppers, cut them open, remove the seeds, and cut into 1cm x 1cm pieces. Set aside.

Pan-Fry the Tofu

  • Heat a pan over medium heat. Add 9ml cooking oil per serving.
  • Once the oil is hot, spread it evenly across the bottom of the pan.
  • Place the tofu slices evenly in the pan and pan-fry over low heat until golden brown, then flip.
  • When both sides are golden brown, transfer to a plate and set aside.

Stir-Fry Peppers and Combine

  • Add more oil to the pan until it covers the bottom.
  • Add the peppers and stir-fry over high heat, pressing and mashing with a spatula for .
  • Add the tofu back to the pan and stir-fry together.
  • Add salt and chicken bouillon, then stir-fry over medium heat for .
  • Add 10ml water and reduce the sauce over high heat.
  • Before serving, sprinkle with the chopped green onions, then transfer to a plate and serve.

Notes

Cut the tofu into even slices for consistent cooking.

Pan-fry the tofu over low heat to ensure it gets golden and crispy without burning.

Pressing the peppers with a spatula helps release their flavor and makes them more tender.

Don't skip the water at the end - it helps create a nice sauce and prevents the dish from being too dry.
